There are a few approaches to take in order to get the perfect beach waves, as well as tools to pick up. Although there are products on the market that guarantee this type of wave, it’s just as easy to make your own products at home. To begin, purchase a small spray bottle.

Fill this bottle with water and a few teaspoons of sea salt, then spray on the hair. As the hair begins to dry, make sure to scrunch it to create textured waves. Afterwards, feel free to smooth out the texture of the waves with leave-in conditioner or hair oil.

Another way to create beach waves from home is to get crafty with a straightening iron. Although your natural instinct might be to try this look with a curling iron, the straightening iron actually creates better waves in a looser, more natural style. To create this look, first section your hair into chunks, pick a section to start with, and clip the rest of the hair up. Hold your straightening iron vertically, and as you pull it through the hair, twist the straightening iron. Continue to do this on your whole head, then spray with hair spray to lock in the look.

Even if you aren’t near a beach, beach waves can easily be recreated at home. This look is fun, sexy, and simple to recreate. All it takes is a little time and some easy tools, and you’ll be working the waves all summer!

There are several tricks you can use to bring out the best in your brown eyes based on how light or dark they are. For example, light brown eyes shouldn’t be overwhelmed with dark shades. Keep darker shades to a minimum, and highlight other colors in the eyes with lighter shades.

Many people with light brown eyes have golden specks in them, so yellow eye shadow will bring out those colors. People with medium brown eyes look splendid in any color, from metallic shades like gold and copper to colors like purple and green. Dark brown eyes are often so dark that they seem black, so make sure you combine dark colors with lighter shades so your eyes don’t look too dark.

Neutral shades, or earth tones, are a great choice for brown eyes. Browns, peaches and taupes work well on brown eyes. You can pair these shades with dark brown eyeliner for a daytime look and black eyeliner for an evening look. Neutral metallic shades such as gold and bronze make brown eyes stand out. I suggest champagne as an excellent neutral shade to use on brown eyes because it provides enough contrast to make the eyes really stand out. A dramatic look can be achieved with dark eyeliner and mascara.

The trick for selecting the best colors for brown eyes is to choose eye shadow colors that offer the most contrast. This contrast will bring out the best of your brown eyes. Pink and plum give a hint of color that contrasts well with brown eyes. Green works really well with brown. Earthy green tones such as forest green, are more subtle while neon green adds playfulness and whimsy. Blue, especially bright blue, adds even more contrast to brown eyes by brightening them.

Cat Eyes

No-not real cat eyes-I’m referring to the shape of the frames. Designers like Missoni and Tory Burch have made this sunglass trend their own. Missoni’s pictured model is wearing yellow lenses with speckled frames and Burch’s sunglasses appear more traditional. These are Wayfarers meet cat eyes with distinctly thicker frames. Although a cult classic, the Wayfarer by Ray Ban can’t compete with today’s too cool version.

Alienate Yourself

This next sunglass trend may have you seeing stars-no literally stars and other shapes. If you don’t mind the extra attention, then these might be for you. Shapes like exaggerated ovals, stars, and triangles are some of the unusual shapes. Top designer Giles has reached a new earthly high with Roswell alien shaped frames while Jeremy Scott likes red hearts. Karen Walker played it a bit safer with royal blue octagons.

Round Up

Don’t go around in circles for this next sunglass trend. Made popular by Elton John and Lady Gaga they have patterned or blinged out frames. They are the uber-stylish frames shown by Viktor & Rolf and the sophisticated, oversized pair from Yigal Azrouel.

Be a Good Sport

Sporty sunglasses are not a new sunglass trend but designers never tire of them. Professionals like pilots made aviators popular but they never looked this hot. Tommy Hilfiger’s ultra sleek metal frames and Cynthia Rowley’s highly reflective lenses are fashion statements.

Slow Fade

This trend is unrelated to shape or color; however, gradient lenses in the new shapes are popular. You’ll see Dolce & Gabbana models wearing these dark-to-light lenses.

Block Me

Although some think color blocking is passé, it looks like sunglasses have picked up where the trend left off. Stark white frames and dark lenses make high-contrast sunglasses the must have accessory for summer. Marc by Marc Jacobs and Bottega Venetta are definitely blocking the naysayers with this sunglass trend.

Here’s how I do it.

Hair

I wash my hair at night with a product that combines a cleansing agent with a conditioner. The two step process of hair washing and conditioning becomes a one-step process saving time and money. In the morning, all I have to do is touch up my hair, and I’m ready for the day.

Skin

All women know how important sunscreen is to preserve healthy young-looking skin. How lucky we are that many cosmetic manufacturers now make tinted moisturizers that contain SPF ingredients. With one application of tinted moisturizer, I can protect and hydrate my skin plus even-out my skin tone and add a touch of color to my face.

Eyes

Powdered eye-shadow and a tube of mascara are all I need to create great eyes. I use a creamy vanilla shade of shadow to brush over my whole eyelid. Then I use a dark-brown eye shadow to line my eyes and to add contour to the crease of my eye. Next I fill in my brows with a pinch of brown shadow. The final touch is a quick brush of mascara on my lashes. One coat is all you need. The whole process only takes a few minutes. It actually takes more time to write about what to do than to do it!

Lips and cheeks

You can often use the same product to color your lips and add a rosy glow to your cheeks. A low-gloss lipstick can do double duty. I use it on my lips and on my cheeks. The best part is the colors never clash! In ten minutes I feel confident about my looks and ready for the day ahead.

Seasons:

For Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, St. Patrick’s Day, Valentine’s Day or any other special day of the year, you can be in tune with the season by adorning your nails with seasonal nail decals, covered with clear top coat. You can purchase them online for next to nothing. Buy in bulk and you will have them ready for the upcoming seasons year after year.

Remove your acrylic or crystal nails, and have a pre-decaled set applied. You can get them with Christmas trees, Easter Bunnies, American Flags or any other icon you choose. The design in these nails is made in acrylic and is actually a part of the nail. All that you need for these is a coat of clear polish and you will be ready for the season. Built-in designs are a real timesaver.

Dress Up:

Trendy dress-up designs are fun. You can get colored nail tips in red, black, pink, or any color or built-in acrylic design on the nail tip. Draw a thin line of gold, silver or red glitter at the point where the colored tip begins (just beyond the nail bed). These make nails a focal point. You can do the same with toe nails for occasions where sandals are appropriate.

Everyday:

Jewels of your initials are fun and eyecatching on nail tips. Acrylic with flecks of light blue, green or yellow are a good way to draw attention to nail tips. Use flesh-colored acrylic for nailbeds and irridescent, metallic-flecked acrylic on nail tips.

French manicures are pretty for everyday wear. Make them trendy and unique with a strip of colored paint or glitter just after the nail bed where the white tips begin. Airbrush dried nails with flowers, adorned with a tiny jewel or two. You can also paint flowers in acrylic paint and cover them with a sheer coat of clear polish for protection.

There are some great handbag trends on the fashion scene for 2012. No matter your personal preference or style, I know you’ll be certain to find a trendy bag that’s just right for you. One of the biggest trends in bags right now is the cross-body bag. Cross-body bags are a smaller style bag that, as its name suggests, is worn across the body with a long strap.

This allows a woman to have her hands free for whatever else she might need to carry, or just to feel comfortable and carefree. You can find cross-body bags in a multitude of colors and materials; in my opinion, some of the cutest ones for spring are casual canvas bags, or mixed-material cross-body bags made from canvas or linen with leather.

Clutches are big for 2012 as well. The current trendy clutches come in bright, cheerful hues that add a pop of color to any outfit. Check out the popular bright blues, yellows, oranges and greens for spring and summer 2012. Clutch bags are available in many materials and sizes, from traditional small, structured clutches for a fancy evening out to chic, oversized leather clutches for making an outfit edgier and hip.

Big totes and hobo bags will always be in style. Personally, I love their versatility and their roomy size. I can carry all my daily essentials inside, with room for extras like a water bottle, magazine or even a laptop or tablet. The trendiest and most luxurious large bags come in soft, supple leathers that look even better as they age.

The bottom line is that there are myriad trendy fashion bags this year to fit anyone’s style. Enjoy updating your wardrobe with a chic bag this year!

A pantsuit is a classic item that always looks great in the workplace. Fitted jackets are very stylish, as opposed to the oversized bulky jackets with shoulder pads that were popular in decades past. A suit jacket that fits without being overly tight gives a sleek and professional look to anyone that wears it. Pairing bold and colorful jewelry, a beautiful scarf or a brightly colored blouse can add extra style to a traditional look.

For 2012 trends in workwear, a pencil skirt is a versatile piece that looks great on anyone. A basic black pencil skirt can be worn with neutral colors for a toned down look, or paired with a fun blouse or jewelry to pep it up for the office. Even tops with a little bit of shimmer, such as with beads, rhinestones or sequins, can be paired with a black pencil skirt for a stylish look.

Safety shoes and bags are also a great way to add style to a work wardrobe. A great leather handbag can add style and sophistication to any outfit, while shoes can add a touch of fun to anything. Booties, stilettos in bright colors or platforms can be added to an outfit for a touch of flair.

A great coat or jacket can also be worn over work attire. A classic trench coat that is fitted to the wearer’s body looks great over skirts, pants, suits and other office appropriate clothing. Neutral colors are always in style, but brighter colors can also be incorporated for a cool look for 2012.

By adding small details that can brighten up an outfit, anyone can perk up their work attire in 2012. The key is to keep the basic look simple, elegant and classic, while adding color, fun accessories and trendy shoes or other pieces in order to keep the outfit office appropriate, but adding some style for 2012.

In my opinion, some of the top colors for 2012 are the shades that celebrities are rocking on the red carpet and on film sets. The last Twilight movie comes out this year, which means that fans will want the same shades as Bella and the rest. Kristen Stewart uses a deeper brown color in the films, and fans around the world want to recreate the look at home. Stewart is a huge celebrity outside of the movies and I’m loving the darker color that she wears in real life. Dark brown, mahogany, black and chocolate brown are all great choices for the new season.

Some people say that blondes have more fun, but the darker colors hitting the streets prove that wrong. If you still love blond shades, then find a way to mix that with one of the darker colors. I don’t think that you can go wrong when you pair chunky blond streaks with a deeper brown shade. Blond highlights work, but consider adding a few larger streaks around your face for a funkier look. Richer shades of blond like caramel are a great way to brighten up for the warmer months.

You can thank Katy Perry for the trend of bright colors. I don’t think that you are ever too old for an unnatural color that looks more at home on a gumball than a head of hair. Perry sported a hot pink dye job, but later switched to a bright blue Smurf shade. If you are too afraid to change your looks permanently, pick a temporary shade or a wig. I’ll never reveal your secret.

I’m also loving Pink and Jamie Lee Curtis who show that women can go gray naturally. Pink headed to the salon for off-white and slightly gray highlights, while Curtis rocks her natural hair color. This is a great way to show off your natural hair color without worrying what people might think. If you aren’t ready to go full-on gray, then pick a few lighter highlights and you will still rock this trend.

Tip #1: Avoid over-washing your hair.

For girls with very dry hair, shampooing once every three or four days is probably sufficient, at least until your hair has restored some of its health. If you have oily hair, you should still avoid washing it every day. Even girls with very oily hair should only wash their hair every other day, or preferably every three days.

If your roots begin to look greasy, try applying a gentle dry shampoo to your roots only. If you don’t have any dry shampoo, rubbing a little bit of baby powder into your roots can sometimes help to combat oil and odor. I know it feels gross not to wash your hair every day, but it is essential to improve the health and appearance of dry and damaged hair.

Tip #2: Always use a gentle shampoo and a good conditioner.

There are many shampoos and conditioners available on the market that are designed specifically for damaged hair. These products are less drying and provide more moisture than other shampoos.

If you have incredibly dry hair, you can try washing your hair with baby shampoo every other time that you shampoo. Baby shampoo is much more gentle than even the gentlest of adult shampoos. Make sure to continue using a good conditioner.

Tip #3: Find a good leave-in conditioner that works for you.

It may be hard to choose a leave-in conditioner when there are so many options, but there are many affordable and effective leave-in conditioners and treatments available. Since different hair types require different treatments, you may have to experiment to find the most effective leave-in conditioner for you.

Tip #4: Avoid chemical treatments until your hair has restored its health.

Perms, hair dye and chemical straightening treatments can make your hair look beautiful, until it damages your hair beyond repair. These chemical straightening treatments are terrible for your hair and could be the cause of your current damage. Until you have restored your hair’s health, avoid getting your hair dyed or permed. Once your hair’s health has improved, you should still minimize your use of these chemicals. Your bleach blonde hair won’t look quite so beautiful when it has all fallen out, after all!

Tip #5: Avoid heat styling when possible.

Blow dryers, curling irons and straighteners are handy styling tools, but too much heat styling can cause major damage to your hair. Whenever possible, allow your hair to air dry. Try putting your hair in a ponytail or wearing it naturally for normal days. Only straighten or curl your hair when you are going out.

With such a small amount of fabric to work with, coming up with new swimwear trends season after season can be challenging. Perhaps that is one reason why vintage-inspired swimwear is in style this year. Features include tops with fuller cups and bottoms with high waists that come up to the navel. In my opinion, the vintage look is less than flattering on most body types. While the tops provide a nice amount of coverage for a larger chest, the high waist of the bikini bottom is hard to pull off for all but the tallest, slimmest girls. Also, the straight cut at the legs makes the thighs look thicker.

I think the most elegant swimwear trend is the one-piece style with cutouts in neutral shades of black, white and navy. Metallic tones, like gold, silver and bronze, are also chic. They shimmer in the hot sun and sparkle when wet. Metal hardware accents provide a sophisticated touch. Another swimwear trend that looks particularly polished is the belted waist, which gives the illusion of cinching in the midsection.

Ruffled accents are a major force in 2012 swimwear. The ruffles can be the main focus or just a subtle addition to one-piece and two-piece swimsuits. Use ruffles to add volume to certain areas, like the chest, or as a distraction to cover tummy bulge. When placed correctly, ruffles can also create balance when one half of the body is larger or smaller than the other.

Although cutouts continue to be popular, the big news this summer is straps. Whether they wrap around the waist, run up the arm or appear at the hip, they are everywhere. This is a seductive look that is not for the timid since it commands attention.

Asymmetrical or one-shoulder tops are both elegant and chic. Modern styles feature a strap that is a different color than the rest of the suit or pulls a color from the print of the suit. The asymmetrical lines of the top tend to go very well with bottoms that have straps at the hip.
