If you want to look unforgettable for your next party, try giving your hairstyle a boost. Even if your hairdo looks like something from a horror movie, you can tame it and make it shine. In my opinion, you don’t need to be a Hollywood starlet to have a glamorous, dazzling hairstyle.

One of the easiest styles to achieve for medium to long hair is the up-do. You can create an easy up-do by putting your dry hair into a high or low ponytail and twisting it into a messy bun. Pull some strands free, and place jeweled pins in the bun. For a more dramatic look, don’t make the bun, and spiral curl one-inch sections. Spritz the strands with a styling spray first. Pin each curl around the crown of your head, and let a few loosely hang.

I like wearing my hair down for parties, so I sometimes create a partial up-do. I follow the same steps for a typical up-do, but I pull the top portion of my hair into a ponytail. I hot roll the strands that hang down for full, flowing waves. If you really want to make a statement, wear your hair down and curl half-inch sections with a small curling iron. This works best if you have exceptionally long hair. You can scatter rhinestones or other jewels throughout it for added glam.

If you have short hair, apply gel to the ends and create a messy style, or slick it down with wax for a sleek look. You can also smooth down the front and tightly curl the back. Adding a glittery headband, crystal studs or barrettes will turn it into chic, sexy party hair. No matter what type of hair you have, you can make it extraordinary by playing mad scientist and experimenting with styles.
